The President of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA), Charles Ofei-Palm, who was interdicted by the hospital authority, has been reinstated.
According to a letter jointly signed by the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Samuel Asiamah, and Director of Human Resources Samuel Akotuah Atweri, Mr Ofei-Palm is to resume work “with immediate effect”.
Mr Ofei-Palm, a specialist pharmacist, is to receive “all salaries and allowances lost during the termination”.
The union leader was interdicted in 2016 over what the hospital management described as actions that brought the name of the hospital into disrepute.
Mr Ofei-Palm graduated from the University of Havana, Cuba in 1999 with bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical sciences. He had his masters from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland UK where he specialised in health services in Public Health.
He has two fellowship awards. One from the Ghana College of Pharmacists where he is a foundation fellow and another fellowship from the Civilian institute of Democratic Administration(CIDA).
Until his interdiction, he was the Specialist Pharmacist in charge of the Eye pharmacy of the Eye Care Center of the Korle bu Teaching Hospital.
